This thing.Never could find the HD caps for the expanded ammo in the clip. Great at mid-long ranges.the GRA tri-beam laser. Fires reasonably accurately and pin point.the Laser RCW used to love this gun, best burst fire gun especially with ED-E after lonesome road. Also with a damage mod.The Laser rifle has that +Crit damage from perks but its got a split beam which means it hits twice on a sneak attack crit and both hits do full damage critical. Don't think ANYTHING can get thru those radscorps extremely easily early game, but its not that bad. On normal I've never had trouble, I grab a GRA laser pistol with a +3 damage mod right out of goodsprings, and give it several hundred rounds of bulk ammo.preforms better than the 9mm pistol and gets you the critical damage chance s good enough for most things, though I'll want a GRA plasma pistol with DT cutting rounds for killing radscorps. The best energy weapons demand alot from your strength. So if you do take up energy weapons, I advise taking up a few mods that give them their fangs back and make them less of a chore for so much of your leveling time. Coupled with the fact that they're considerably less common then firearms, ammo included, they really require you take full advantage of their perk sets to keep yourself well stocked and not up ♥♥♥♥ creek in a fight with them constantly. Plasma chews through ammo faster then locusts in a greenhouse, and laser doesn't deal nearly enough damage too break through the DT's of even averagely difficult enemies, so you'll unload all of your ammo killing things anyway. But when you get to the later stages of the game, you will find some pretty powerfull energy weapons AND guns(ex Alien blaster, Gauss rifle, Q-35 matter modulator, AER14Prototype, Anti-material rifle, brush gun, the 44.Įnergy weapons are neat looking, but you'll be pressed to use them to any effective extent in the early stages of the game. They are cheap, easy to find, and if you play on hardcore mode in NV, the ammo Is not as heavy as energy weapon ammo. In the beginning of the game, you will be using guns.
